Christmas Time

She had been sealed with a kiss
As she stood under the mistletoe.
He had brought a smile to her face
She knew he loved her, it showed.

Mary stood at the window
Listening to the carolers sing a tune
Knew every word to each song
They would be through soon

Hot chocolate and cookies offered
For it was below zero that night
Snow began to fall very fast
Making the season feel just right

As they said goodbye
The carolers went on their way
Went back to the window to sit
Thinking about what went on that day

House was all lit up
With Christmas lights through the house
It was so quiet and felt content
She hadn't even seen or heard the mouse

Lacy, her dog and companion
Came to sit nearby
Treated her with loyalty
As time had gone by
