Christmas This Year Is Different

CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT

Christmas this year is different
Than Christmas has been before,
For some are no longer with us,
They’ve gone to heaven’s bright shore.
Some we expected to leave us,
Riddled with cancer and pain,
But they don’t have that in heaven,
They’re perfect in health once again.
Some reached their ripe age and departed
And precious years left behind
With memories many and precious
That we can bring to our mind.
But there are those young and tender,
Those we would never expect
Took their short journey to heaven
Through sudden death they were swept.
Christmas would be much more different
If the dear Saviour we love
Died and stayed dead there forever,
Not now in heaven above.
Christ conquered death there one morning;
We who believe Him can know
When it’s our time for departing
We, too, in heaven will go!
So as we now celebrate Christmas,
Let it not be sad and drear
That a dear loved one is missing
Not here to spread Christmas cheer.
Let’s look with hope now in heaven
Where we’ll be safe and secure
Christmas up THERE WILL be different!
Of this we are very sure!
