Christmas Snow

Send me across the road of repair
Tell me I can run from despair
I walk, close my eyes and pray
The lies creep and traffic comes my way

I die again and my eyes are open wide
I cannot breathe as I panic then confide
Restart my heart and never tell me I died
Just let me live and make me think I tried

I breathe, alone in a bloody wake
Waves stare and show me what’s at stake
I swim away from everything
The blood swirls, and sharks begin to sing

I die once more as I search for a heart that longs
To be inside her as I scream it’s far too wrong
This metaphorical, dreaming fading song
It lets me see that inside my heart is gone

Remind me please that I died so long ago
Ironically it hits me when it snows
I see your face every year, it lets me know
I fell away from everything that lives and flows
