I get sadness in this haiku as the memories are recalled with a dingy stocking and recycled lights. There is loss in this one but beautifully written. Maybe I am wrong but I feel the ritual just has to be carried out in spite of you not wanting to do Christmas. Really love this, thank you. I write non traditional haiku (not the 5, 7, 5) but less, is that okay to post here?
