Christmas Presents
CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
I don’t have many presents under my Christmas tree,
I guess that’s to be expected now from my family.
But I’m not really troubled about this here today,
For I have Christmas presents that came in other ways.
I have a precious Savior, a present pure and true,
I have a future mansion up there beyond the blue,
I have a perfect Bible, God’s word here in my hand,
I have a precious freedom to own it in this land.
I have a throne of grace here where I can boldly go
To bring my needs to Jesus and His compassion know.
I have a church where preaching and music is done right,
To go to twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday night.
I have a caring pastor who’s not afraid to say
The truth I need to live by as I walk on my way.
And in my church are many that I call precious frends—
Each one is very special; their knees in prayer they bend.
So though I don’t have presents to open Christmas Day,
The ones I have are better, for they brighten up my way.
They make EACH day so special, and so I want to say,
“Thank God for Christmas presents like these I have today!”
