Christmas Nostalgia
“When love sent a baby on that silent night, there was hope to save us, a plan to make things right” ~ poet
Just a child, I surely didn’t see
The reason for such amazing whimsy
When my Mom decorated, decked the halls
With her shining tinsel, glistening balls
I felt so stirred, like Christmas time
The joy must be singing in a rhyme
About the wonder, peace and love
Sent to all of us, from heaven above
Just a child, I did not understand
The wonderous day, so very grand
But I know, without a single doubt
He’s living inside my heart, so I cry out
It’s Christmas time, Jesus’ love glows
Sent down to all of us – His love flows
Revealing the music of His grace
I’ll forever be nestled in His embrace
Just a child, on this Christmas Eve
The joy inside – you’d not believe
Jesus is the light, reflecting peace
He’s the answer, a love that won’t cease
Jesus is the miracle of a virgin birth
He is the love that came to earth
While Christmas is the time to celebrate
I know the One who will always create…
A Christmas night filled with hope
Christmas that tells us all we can cope
Christmas is alive inside my soul
I know the One who makes me whole
Christmas is the season for giving back
A prayer, praise for Him who doesn’t lack
He is the reason that I feel such delight
For the joy, the carols, everything that’s right
Christmas is in the air, writing praise
For the One who inspires – He will amaze
He’s blessed my life with a gentle grace
And I’ll never forget – I’ll soon see His face
When I meet Him in heaven, that fine day
I know for certain – Here is what I’ll say…
“Thank You, Jesus, for the love and grace…
But especially for bringing me to this place”
Heaven waits and Christmas can never tell
What it means to me, who was saved from hell
Christmas is the day when I finally say
Thank You, Lord, for making a way
Thank You, Jesus, for showing me such love
You’re the reason I sing to heaven above
About this season, when we celebrate Your birth
The beautiful peace that God brought to earth!
