Christmas Mouse Is Coming
The joyful merry exuberant Christmas mouse is coming!
The Christmas mouse is coming! The Christmas mouse is coming!
I thought my aunt was daffy; she has never been fond of mice.
This is different, she told me. You’ll see. And I did.
The Christmas mouse was there in the morning.
He made waffles with blueberries, and put real whipped cream on them.
He made me the best cocoa cappuccino I have ever had in my life
And he added a peppermint stick that gave it an extra Christmas pizzazz.
He was a whirlwind of excitement – cooking, cleaning, dusting.
What else can I do for your family? He asked me.
Stay forever I begged him.
But he only comes one day a year, on December 18th.
It is enough. By the time he leaves we are totally in the Christmas mood.
Ready to sing Christmas carols and dance until our red tights swell up.
Now I am the first one to sing “Christmas mouse is coming!”
