Christmas Morning Memories

Eyes sparkling wide with faces alive;
Joyous energy the mornings vibe;
Smiles glisten like tinsel on the tree,
Voices ring out so excitedly;

Feet dancing the Sugar Plum Fairy;
Hands grip tight, their stockings they carry;
Patience is hard, but they have been taught;
First to say thanks for what Santa brought;

Cinnamon rolls with coffee aromas;
Wake us from our Christmas Eve comas;
Orange peels mixed with fir tree scents;
Crystalize the mind of mornings events;

Let the gift opening now begin;
The ooh’s and ah’s with permanent grins;
These the finest gifts ever received;
These my Christmas morning memories;
