Christmas Memories
CHRISTMAS MEMORIES
We often share our memories each day of every year,
They may very happy or times we shared a tear.
But there is something special of Christmas ones, I guess,
In the final days now dawning and we put a year to rest.
It may be of our childhood when we got so many toys,
Our visit there with Santa and all the girls and boys.
It may be how, so anxious, we couldn’t sleep that night;
We wondered what would be there to greet the morning light.
It may be family gatherings, a dinner then to share,
But thinking of another who was no longer there.
It may be of a Christmas when snow had fallen deep,
And you used some extra covers so you could go to sleep.
It might be of a sleigh ride with horses in their reins
And you sang Christmas carols as they trotted off again.
Or how about that snowman! You took an old straw hat
And a scarf and pipe to finish—you were so proud of that!
I’ll bet there’s MANY memories of Christmas on your mind;
I hope that you have many, yes, good ones in your mind!
I hope as you remember, ‘twill make this Christmas day
One happy just like others that all have come your way!
