No matter where you are, in a four bedroom home, or hotel room, home is where love is and not in the memory of where it used to be. This is what I had to learn to let go of. Yes, the memories with all of my children, the Christmas tree, the ornaments, shopping from the list of what each of them wanted for Christmas... these are memories I will forever cherish; but I allowed those same memories pierce me with sorrows, having lossed it all. If you can’t let go of what home used to be, how can you make home where you are? I am thankful that God enlightened me to this, this Christmas season, and I have found new healing, and new freedom to celebrate Christmas present. I don’t have the kind of Christmases I used to have in home; but what matters most is there is and always be, Christmas in my heart.

CHRISTMAS IN MY HEART No Christmas tree, no twinkling lights No halls decked with boughs of holly No songs of Christmas sentiments sung by those making jolly No shrills of laughter of little ones or the pitter patter of their little feet or handmade photographic ornaments Marking years of memories As I sipped my evening broth that night From a Christmas mug of a collection I managed to save Gazing from my window at spray of stars, Thinking of Christmases past and the joys they once gave. A moment of reflections of Christmases past, usually followed by tears For what used to be and is no more; Since seemingly a decade of years. But instead, like a light giving a blessed hope for what God must have in store. I am toughened by the letting go of all I embraced before This gleam of hope sparked a faith renewed peering from my window at a starry night, I was reminded of the night our Savior was born God's beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Blessed Hope of Glory, His grace the gift of life, The joy that celebrates the season, Amidst a world of darkness, He is Light. What matters more than life's sorrows and woes, Hope renewed breeds a brand new start For the hope that lies within me now, Christmas in my heart.
