Christmas 
dreams 
of us 

we sleep 
to dream 
of better things

we muddle 
through it all 
some how

Christmas
dreams 
of us

it whispers 
in our minds 
let Christmas stay always

inside the heart
beats singing 
its longest carol

Next year 
all our troubles
will be out of sight

Christmas

there we meet

Christmas dreams of and in us most certainly! If I could I'd tell ya (over a hot toddy) the midnight tale from years past (as I secretly placed the gift of bird feeder full of seed on my neighbor's porch), when I realize that I was Santa Clause - simultaneously possessing humans all over the world with the gift of giving.

Perhaps it has sometimes happened to you in a dream that someone says something which you don't understand but in the dream it feels as if it has some enormous meaning- either a terrifying one which turns the whole dream into a nightmare or else a lovely meaning too lovely to put into words, which makes the dream so beautiful that you remember it all your life and are always wishing you could get into that dream again.
