Notes About The Poem

Christmas Day Haiku Trilogy

Christmas tablecloth
Red mugs, hot chocolate
Cinnamon candle

We, so lovingly
Just like kids, dunk marshmallows
Sniffing the candle

Beneath the table,
Our feet do a romantic dance
Quite a holiday trance!

We are the ones who have the power over holidays and how to celebrate them or not. Being older, there is no way to bring back those who are gone. I am glad they are with God on Christmas. How perfect that must be! Earth was not their home. But it is up to us to make Christmas better for others. Otherwise, I would end up groaning,)) best of peace and love to you, John!
