Christmas Blues

Snow falls with my dreams;
Happiness isn't what it seems.
You see the smile on my face,
Not even suspecting that it's fake.
Christmas comes along with tears,
Broken promises, unforgiving fears.
For most, this is a happy time;
For me, it just depresses my mind.
I need someone to spend the season with;
Someone to cuddle, to hold, to kiss.
It could have been you here with me,
But you met her and decided to leave.

I enjoyed reading your poetry this morning Tiffany. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am going to see if I can write something for a couple contests this weekend. Hope you find the inspiration to do the same. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. Love, Carol
