Christmas
You should be here
All cosy and warm in my arms
Ready for Santa, magic and reindeer
The tree would be up
The presents all bought
You would have a special Christmas plate and cup
We would sing jingle bells
Learn new carols everyday
The house would be filled with gingerbread smells
Christmas instead is cancelled here
There is no joy, no peace, no excitement
I cannot celebrate because you are gone my dear
You won’t play in the snow
No chocolate and candy canes
You won’t learn how jingle bells go
You won’t help with the tree
Play with the lights and baubles
It is put away so I can’t see
Christmas will never be the same
You won’t ever enjoy it with me
I am left with memories, love and pain
