Christ Is Risen Today

Christ Is Risen Today “After three days I will rise again.” Matt 27:62,63 Oh what joy— Christ Is Risen today! Tell all the nations Of His resurrection Sunday; How an angel called Him To come forth from the grave; Rolled away the stone with ease, As a pebble covered by a wave. The Roman guards all fainted From the angel’s bright glory. Then ran in fear to the priests Who concocted a false story, That the disciples had stolen The body of their Lord. Whilst the guards were sleeping— Money, this lie did afford. Christ Is Risen Today That’s the greatest news! For He’s the first fruits From which the righteous take their cues. Because Christ Is Risen Today, We have hope for tomorrow. The dead in Christ will rise first; An end of all sorrow. Of the whole Easter Story, This is the very best part. What joy it brings To every searching heart. There’s no other story In the Bible anywhere, That is more glorious, To each and every ear. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2008-2012 www.maureenlefanue.com
