Choices Between
It hurt me deeply your belief that I could hurt you
when I have always innocently cared for you.
I have deeply loved you for many, many years
I had no need of tears...
Then you came along and forced me to heal
I could see the chapter clearly right before my eyes
everywhere I turned, glaring me in the face, were your lies
All I could do was stomp my foot like a horse standing wild
It was all I could do to calm that scared little child
I watched from the corner of my eyes toward every angle
of my true story never told...
all the scorning lies that you helped to unfold
Into a place where there was not a friend to back me up
Only my choices between and this empty cup.
