Chinese New Year

Spring festival
Auspicious colours
Painting town red

Reunion dinner
Grand celebration
Hearts aligned

Homeward bound
To gather again
Good times come around

Joy sings
Spring chorus;
Familiar red packets

Laughing faces
Jolly feasting:

SKAT: Glad you can relate to the haikus -- especially the 'red packets' filled with cash! Ha-haha! Thanks. Leon

I imagine this to be a colorful, fun, wonderful festival. You give that impression with these haikus. You have packed a lot of images into a few words. Well done.

Dear Monterey: Thanks for your comments. Yes, Chinese New Year is really a big festival in Singapore with 65 percent of the population being Chinese. It's really a great occasion to celebrate spring the Chinese way. Here in Singapore, the climate is either hot and sunny, or raining and wet. But, it's nice to think of spring! Leon
