Chimera World
Mysterious, mosaic maze
speak to me as I weave
through your garden pathways
'round still, midnight trees.
Crescent moon smiles faintly
from a cold, distant heaven
as darkness clouds my vision
my heart feels heavy laden.
A muted mood surrounds me
nary a sound, with solemn steps
to wonder at my arrival
as like a magnet, I forward press.
Now here in labyrinth's center
a lioness gargoyle stares
from a silent, stony fountain
unfocused and unaware.
