Notes About The Poem

Children of My Soul

Children of my Soul

Each day I give birth to the children of my soul.
Their words to speak forth from a heart to show.
Individually born conceptions all of them are.
With personalities that illuminate from afar.

From love to hate these unchained desires rage.
and must be released to play on my, their stage.
Whose essence is laid within a pen strokes telling.
Of a past, present, or future passions swelling.

Some are hatched with the greatest of ease.
Yet others conceived from down on my knees.
Seeds of a mental state that is heavily overrun.
But they are all my offspring, even the crazy ones.

Each day I give birth to these children of my soul.
Of them I must create to catch then release to let go.
For surely if I don't free them I will go totally insane.
Those li'l children whom are trapped within my brain.
