Children are sponges they know their habitat They're very aware. Children listen to all your chats and spats Whether your drinking this or that Believe me, you make every thing Crystal clear. Children are sponges they know their habitat. They know if you are a hellcat Or a man of prayer. Children listen to all your chats and spats. They know when you enter your flat. If you bring peace or a nightmare. Children are sponges they know their habitat. Are you teaching them to be a diplomat Or to wear a sign that says beware. Children listen to all your chats and spats. You better change your behavior or when they Grow older they'll pull in their welcome mat Whenever you're near. Children are sponges they know their habitat. Children listen to all your chats and spats.

that is a REALLY GOOD villanelle!!! your formatting makes it so that if I had not first seen it was villanelle, it may have taken a while for me to think what form of poetry it was.

Andrea thank you. I try to do a poem about each family member. Some have more than one for this poem the villanelle fit. I appreciated your visits. I hope all is well with you and yours in this new year.

This is so true dear Bette. We need to show our children a good example of when it is to be a kind human being, teach them respect and the value of kindness, for its all that matters. Love and hugs. xo

When my grandson came to visit me with his son he kept saying he does and says everything I do. I said with all the children I have had one thing I've learned is they were all sponges. You have to be real careful about what you say and do. I agree with everything you said. Thank you Pixie Dust for the visit.
