Children

Childbirth,
Words,
Could never express,
How beautiful,
Heartbeat,
First breath,
Baby arrives,
Life,
Never the same,
My world
Changed,
I’m the parent,
The adult,
Inner voice,
Remind,
My mother’s ways,
Sounding out,
Memories,
I find myself,
Saying things,
She would’ve,
Motherly instinct,
Work begins,
Sleepless nights,
Whatever,
I give!
First words,
First steps,
I’m there,
Picking up
When they fall,
I care
School time,
Birthdays,
Teenage days!
Rebelling days,
No rest,
Constantly,
Keeping safe,
Four grown up sons,
Years pass by,
Then,
Unexpected,
Granddaughter,
Sweetness,
Delight,
No sleepless nights,
Happy moments,
Grandmother,
All the fun.

DELIGHTFUL! I loved it from beginning to end. Motherly instincts take over when fear might otherwise set in. Well done Wendy! Best wishes, Keith

I so identified with this loving poem Wendy. The best thing about growing older is becoming a grand parent. I care for my three year old g.daughter while my daughter works and she is the delight and love of my life. A wonderful poem you have created. #7 ; )
