Childhood Picture Book
Their faces round, cheeks rosy red
They laugh and sing, spectacular curls on head
I turn the page and see a tiger roar.
He is cute and fancy, I do adore.
My mother flips the page back now
The smile she give me is a wow.
I am warm upon her gentle loving lap.
I curl up eagerly, ready to take my nap
But wait! My sister says so stern.
That’s not what it says, for we both have learned
That mother sometimes tries to flip the page
Without explaining, due to our age
We both fight over the pages now
With roses and stars, and a fancy cow
There are fields and farms and lakes and stream.
Now ready to ooze into slumber land and have our dream.
