Childhood

Free like the birds in the sky Tender like a newly budded tulip A clear minded soul with no grudges felt Bouncing here and there with naïve eye Missingly missing those “maami’s” cuddles Her warmth sweet bitter lineage appraisal That at dawn interrupts my sweet voyage And in turn gets me singing “one, two, buckle my shoe” I can’t help but remember “Baami’s” whip each time I go wild Oxymoronically beating me, telling me not to cry Now tasty but then sour Driving along the street with rolling tyres Handly cushioning the rain Dancing all around the hood with pant but no shame With much within to aspire YEMI AFO( 2017)
