Child of Mine by M. Griswold 04042020 Oh, child of mine with wayward thought. Remembering naught that which I've taught. Those things of wisdom to make you strong. Those morals of right rather than wrong. All the words of encouragement I spoke to you. Of dreams we dreamed that could come true. All those special times that we did share. The tender hugs we embraced with loving care. Where is that loving child that once I knew. Whom has now grown cold in selfish hue. That thinks of only those pleasures of now. That dwells within a selfish ego's scowl. Oh, child of mine, my baby of a loving heart. Why have you drifted away and moved apart. Why have you rejected all that I've to share. To choose a path of one who doesn't care. I long for you to remember those teachings. To know that love in heart of tender reaching. I hope and pray that soon you'll return to me. To remember again this parents love for thee.
