Child, Don'T Ever Wish To Grow

Child, don't ever wish to grow
Play all the games that you know
Run after the butterfly
Chase it wherever it goes
Laugh and laugh and cry and cry
Because what you do is real
You're really glad when you laugh
You're really sad when you cry

Child, don't ever wish to grow
For adulthood's full of flaw
Run not for the passing time
Wait 'til the world starts to close
Your time is good, not like mine
Because what I do is fake
I could not wear a real smile
I could not shed a real tear

Child, don't ever wish to grow
Don't dream of the tomorrow
'Tis always full of despair
Enjoy your time, run, and trust
For real happiness is near
In this time where I am in
I have lost my joy and trust
I am waiting for the end
