Child

Before I even watched your birth, I had already failed you first. Collecting bones in closets damned. To proxies labor done withstand. Mistakes go down with Jacks and cokes. A childhood ends in perished hopes. The years apart we will to stand. Regret to always catch the man. My sorrow carving name in stone, A Father never dies alone. ------------------------------------------------ Rob Carmack Couplet : Iambic Tetrameter 10.26.14

Rob, I found another one of yours down here that I had not seen yet. It is really good because it sets a tone that is so sad and carries that feeling to the very end. Awesome final couplet! I see it won a contest. Belated Congrats to you.
