Cherry Blossoms
I remember spring
cherry blossoms they are here
on a day like this
white and pink burst forth
so they flutter to the ground
the last petal clings
a hummingbird's nest
the wind drops the blossoms
outside my window
sidewalk umbrellas
when winter snow melts away
in the city fields
life and cherry trees of old
storm, don't come so soon.
