Chemo Session 2
No trouble with my blood this time so I am now in chemo # 2. My baby white blood
cells were a bit below what they wanted to see but my platelets were back to
normal so they said I was good to go. The doctor dropped the amount of Oxyplatin
by 10% in hopes that my blood does not get as depleted as it did for session 1. We
left for Wilmington about 7:15 and got home about 2:30. One long morning getting
chemical poisons put into my body. I was pretty tired by the time I got back home.
Go back to Wilmington for a 12:15 extraction of the pump on Friday. Till then I have
to carry this little belly bag purse everywhere I go. What a pain!

Chemo Session 2
I had my second chemo yesterday
And how am I now feeling by the way?
My stomach’s a bit queasy
And my bottom’s somewhat breezy
But really it’s too early yet to say
And then there is the chemo’s little curse
The pump and chemo in its little purse
Wear it like a belly bag
Or just grab it and drag
I’m not really sure just which is worse
And when you sleep the bag’s there by your side
Tethered through a tube right to your hide
You must sleep all alone
For your bed’s a danger zone
If anyone says different, well, they lied
The pump can bug you in so many ways
Luckily you wear it just 3 days
Then they pull it from your port
While the cancer it will thwart
The deadly chemical inside you stays
So there you have it, now I sit and wait
The poison’s running through me by this date
I wait for the side effects
From this cancer hex
And then it’s just a matter, friend, of fate
