Check-Up Blues

I can't listen to your heartbeat
  Can you stop the pinging?
I keep losing your pulse
  What's that ringing?

When you say 'Ah,' I hear a song
  Am I doing my job all wrong?
Technology is supposed to make things easy
  I'm afraid it leaves this doctor queasy

It seems that techno-geeks create wihout any thought to the consequences,...much as we poets craft our lines with little regard to how they might affect every single person who reads them.
