Chava and Gila, To the Tune of Hava Nagila

Chava and Gila Chava and Gila Chava and Gila Happy Israeli girls Dancing all night and day Trips on the best airways Their lives were a breeze Doing as they pleased Then one gray dark day The dancing stopped The fun was over War had come They took cover In bomb shelters They did swelter Never to sing Never to sing Never to sing -- or dance again anymore Chava and Gila Chava and Gila Chava and Gild Grew up before their time...

Very Clever one Gershon. And I got the deeper meaning. My daughter's lifelong best friend is Gila. She served her time in the IDF. Gila was my daughter's maid of honor. She's never sad! Too busy with learning, life and mitzvots.)) Shalom~ Panagiota

I was singing this and I realized what the tune was before I saw it. Nice one for sure, my friend.

I'm not sure if it's a take-off on Hava Nagila, or on Alan Sherman's spoof, 'Harvey and Sheila.' LOL. ;) gw
