Chasms In My Heart

Cracks surround me
Expanding with every thought
Chasm’s in my heart

The crevasse is too deep
I fail at my attempts to fill
The cracks surrounding me

The world as I know it is
Splintering, shattering, snapping
Creating chasms in my heart

I’m drowning as the swell of my emotions
Engulfs me as they surge through
The cracks around me

Dejection, despondency, despair
I am imprisoned
By the chasm’s in my heart

Too tired to breathe
I’m falling through the
Cracks that surround me
Surrendering to the chasms in my heart!
