Chasing Echoes
Intro: At midnight I hear the echoes of your voice
And I start falling towards an invisible you
Verse 1: Looks like gravity wants us together
But you don’t even know I exist
Guess I'm just stuck in my own mirage
Still chasing love that only I can see
Chorus: Like waves crashing where the shore should be
Then I hear a scream and wake up
Only to figure out that it was just me
Verse 2: I refuse to believe that I just woke up from a dream
Everything felt real; I could hear the echoes of your footsteps
And I heard children laughing and running
The closer I got, the more the sounds faded away
Bridge: The sounds are just out of reach, I promise I'll get there
Falling, calling out your name but no answer
I'm stuck chasing echoes that just vanish into thin air
I see the sky flicker into rain, then thunder
Oh, how the skies are matching my heart
Outro: Washing everything away but still, I call your name, no response
I don't know if I should keep calling out your name or just accept defeat
I see a silhouette in the distance and it's coming closer
It's an older version of me asking for advice
'Cause she has a fractured heart
I look into my older eyes, and see the truth I tried to hide
No echoes, no mirages left, just the heart I've left behind
