Notes About The Poem

SO!!!  Once again I have committed the BOO-BOO, ZEE GRANDE ERROR.  I wrote this for the eight word challenge poetry contest only to find out on proof reading that I only included seven words.  I considered inserting the missing word but couldn't do it smoothly so......Hope you enjoy this "seven word screw-up".

Charisma

Alas it was too much – the revelation
that charisma has an expiration date
cold discomfort of the scalpel - beauty’s fate
the paragon of pulchritude – deception.

Lust’s blazing passion age cannot sustain
yet reflection over time reveals the core
of hearts all lover’s first learned to adore
slow walking in a cold September rain
