Chaos Machine

Intoxicated by a simple mind
Emptiness until I crawl inside
Here to find something I can deceive
To kill the part of me that still believes

Happiness is more than just a dream
A day of hope and then a lonely scream
Standing broken on the edge of me
Nothing left but undead clarity

Pretty poisons and a loaded gun
Smiling as my heart denies the sun
Give me chaos and you have my word
That I’ll betray until the dark is served

Until it was that I could not be scared
Until their simple laughter went unheard
Further into laws that I create
Eccentric patience that I tolerate

Intuition stands on foggy shores
Clouded misery lies beside its whore
But I stand patient within reason’s hands
Slowly forcing it to end the thing I am
