Changing With the Seasons

As the night ends both are silently gazing out at the cityscape on the journey home. Cascading factals of chrysanthemums flood their eyes as they slice through the rain beaded window. Only ever witnessing something so entrancing once before his sight is drawn to her. She has always known just how to tinker on his rusty heart shaped gizmo. The trees annouce that winter is coming as they retrace the streets behind their old home. Leaves hanging on to the branches like he hangs on her every word. The sounds and colors of autumn swirl around them like something old, something arcane, something magical. He's heard all her stories before but not a syllable of what she says is unheard.
