Changing Winds

CHANGING WINDS

           Serrated clouds over my head
Winds blow wild and forlorn
           Frightened monsters under my bed
It’s the separation in life I mourn

My imagination smears bereft joys
            Innocent children in my wake
The warm blanket of endless toys
             My heart’s longed for keepsake

Personally I would not want to return or relive my childhood – not a happy experience, but I came out of it better than I might. Thanks for reading my limerick. / M
