Changing Sky

The gleaming sun peeped out, as the birds flew gently by.
She sat warmly on the pier and focused on the luminous sky.
Blissful clouds swiftly moved into the sun’s rays.
Creating a silver lining around them, to begin the new day.

As an aura of beautiful colours slowly began to explode,
It changed the blue sky, into a masterpiece that lightly glowed.
Velvety pink and purple with red and orange that all coincide
Reflecting on the peaceful ocean, with confidence and pride.

She closed her eyes taking in the humbling scene.
And silently began to tear as all was not as it seemed.
Quite soon the beauty of the sky rapidly began to fade.
The rain clouds took over as the sky turned dull and gray.

The calm ocean became rough and the winds violently blew
The birds headed for cover as they now vigorously flew.
She welcomed the sudden change as it began to rain.
And braced herself as life, continued to mock her pain

An everyday feeling where her life keeps falling apart.
A once cheerful girl is continuously left with a broken heart.
Good things never last long for her as she’s left with only sad goodbyes. Life is full of uncertainties just like the Changing Sky.

Such description of the sky! Much more than most would undertake. I am struck not only by the beauty of the weather, but the relentless power of it.
