Changing

Something I have to do every day.
Choose kind words to say.
Don't dwell on things that. cause me pain.
It becomes a stain.
Leads down a path I don't wish to see.
It takes work to set your heart free.
Took some time.
Many a rhyme.
To free myself from the rage.
And turn a new page..
Set a new stage.
My heart was turning cold as ice.
I wasn't very nice.
My prison was my mind.
Lost the will to be kind.
I find.
Wondering who am I.
No longer did I wish to fly.
 Took me to my knees.
 Begging someone... please.
Alone.
Lost in what life has shown.
I trained my mind not to focus on the bad.
The sad.
I learned to embrace the pain.
Walk above the stain
Trained my mind.
To be kind.
Every day
I choose the words I say.
That will make someone else's day.
Give them a reason to smile.
Even if it's been awhile.
I don't wish to spread the hate.
Such a bad fate.
After awhile.
One more reason to smile.
It gets easier each time
More pleasant gets the rhyme.
Brings me peace... doesn't cost a dime.
