Change

Rumbling sounds in the distance near
violence and heartache echos despair
where is saneness if any exist
loved ones trapped somewhere

Do we enter the place of blood, and tears
gathering a glimpse of a torn tomorrow
another war is brewing in the wind
imprinting the picture of sorrow

Greed can't survive on innocent land
there is no place for it to hide
things are revealed for all to know
nothing can grow on selfish lies

Listen to the winds of change calling
blowing across untouched meadows
we will be achors of stability
waiting to cast away shadows

Welcome to PoetrySoup Christy. I know this is a late welcome but, I have some very pressing matters going on at the present time. I hope to be back and at full speed in the next couple of weeks. Until then please keep writing and sharing your poetry. Love, Carol
