"Children begin by loving their parents; as they grow older
they judge them; sometimes they forgive them."
Quote by _Oscar Wilde
We had only one hero: father; heroine: mother!
We had two models; Except for them, there was no other!
They gave us food, housing, shelter, health, wealth, and merriment,
Like the kind earth, they gave themselves for our experiment...!
They took us to temple and gurdwara and mosque and church,
They sent us to school, and showed us the way of wisdom search;
As long as they filled us with good things, we found them the best,
As we gained newer knowledge we felt ourselves more blessed...!
We felt as proud as peacocks; we found their faces fading,
We knew working for our sake, fatigue on their face shading;
We found them as flowers of yesterday, less glamorous,
We knew it was futility to make them rapturous...!
Whatsoever they said or did, we felt as though big faults,
We felt ashamed of their participation in our waltz;
We just bore them and gave them a place to quietly hide,
Do we watch our kids watching us, who'd take us for a ride...???
