'challenge Remains'

Six words that carry so much weight 
for every situation in life 
we need to have these words 
as rumination 

because no matter what
happens we will somehow 
be challenged to live it out
we have a tendency to forget 
that to have a clean heart
means getting rid of 
hate, envy and anger –

it means being gentle, 
it means being friendly
even towards a stranger, 
the beggar on the street corner

the challenge remains 
and my continual prayer is 
“Lord, please create in me a clean heart”
