Chained To a Promise
You are promised to the world.
Ever since you have been hurled-
Cast into a whisper.
Resentment that makes you crisper.
Sorry we did nothing more than observe.
And barely that, we gave you extra loneliness you didn’t deserve.
You are promised ignorance from this world.
And expectations that will leave you in sorrow.
