Chained By Television
We chain ourselves to television,
letting shows numb our addicted minds.
As we sink our brains into this drug,
the thrills of human living slowly unwind.
We rush to escape the pressures of the day,
surrendering precious time to television's dangerous sway.
Fractured ideas seep into the sleeping soul,
twisting strange morals into Hollywood's dysfunctional play.
Vacantly, we stare into the fluid light,
entranced by the false stories we see.
Our thoughts fade in the picture's demanding glow,
and we lose the priceless ability to be free.
This growing addiction keeps us trapped,
allowing life's simple pleasures to pass us by.
Hours of our fragile lives are lost,
when television is chosen over the chance to fly.
