cities shut down, the economy collapsed
no food
no work
no cash
stay home
wear mask
an effective vaccine, the miracle drug
human contact, grandparents get a kiss
love smiles
hold hands
tender hugs
new year
new hope
yesterday's legacy, chaff in the wind
forgotten miseries; stories lost to time
a chance
a prayer
a dream
