C'Est La Vie
Eyes to the stars, under this blanket worlds apart,
There is one tune that orchestrates two beating hearts.
When the flickers of the fantasy glitter like diamonds for me,
I drown in the moments of lonely -c'est la vie
Solitary hearts longing to shine in the sun
Dreaming of the days when two lives turn into one
Here and now, locked and chained to the past
Fantasy turning into reality at long last.
Flames creating fire, when the fire rages it burns,
Upon the skin, the heat, the spark, passion returns.
With moments of time like sands start to drip,
in the hourglass, never it ends, give it another flip.
Driving deeper, boiling over, seeping out.
Throes of love, rising, needing to spout.
Time standing still, still a heartbeat away,
Needing to come together but held at bay.
Exploration of emotions, feelings left unfairly unfelt,
Dying inside as disappointment leaves a bruised welt.
Trapped in a cage, two song birds needing to be free,
Hidden under the blanket to be quieted -c'est la vie.
