Censored

Am I a terrible person
For thinking the way that I do
People may say that I’m normal
Oh, but only if they knew

I constantly have to censor myself
From saying what I think
Cause thoughts run through my mind so fast
I scarce have time to blink

Sometimes I have to bite my tongue
To hold all that stuff back
I hate having to keep myself quiet
Having to keep myself on track

Sometimes it makes me want to scream
I’m choking on what I don’t say
I transform the words I am thinking
Into “Thank You” or “Have a nice day”

Someday I’m going to explode
If I keep it bottled this way
I’m about ready to let go
I’m tired of this false display

I’m fixing to tell all the world
Exactly what’s on my mind
Let loose all the anger and resentment
I’ve tried so hard to confine
