Celestial Wonder

I spread my blanket beneath the night sky
so that I can admire the view.
The night is so peaceful and quiet.
It’s the time I feel closest to you.

As I lie here on the grass,
I wonder are you looking down at me?
Will the heavens open just enough
to allow you to see?

As I marvel at these celestial wonders,
the moon and every star,
I know that one day it will be my turn,
and I will come to where you are.

You are now with the Father in Heaven,
the promise of eternal life come true.
And I can’t help but wonder now...
Which beautiful star is you?
