Celebrating With Thunder

When a community is visited by thunder
all go out to celebrate, dancing and singing
yet the dance is one that is undesirable
and the song is one that few can chant

People dance on their heads with thunder
on ribs wriggle themselves in mocking joy
without adjudicators people dance legs off
celebrating with thunder leisure undesired

When a community is visited by thunder
lightning strikes across landscape all over
and rainfall goes for sabbatical leave far
with free hand the players show all skills

Curiosity of children and women starved
Those caught in between call their mothers
Mothers call their mothers’ mothers loudly
With hope that they can open closed gates
