Celebrating Football Victory
The joy of winning a cup
Starts with lifting the thing up,
Acknowledging fans’ wild cheers
And shedding forced but real tears…
The joy of grabbing a cup
Skirting round: down to up,
With the Sports Minister sup,
Everything try plus hiccup,
Before Minister’s Teacup…
The Press tell ‘I hadn’t fears:’
Your team knew how to foes pierce,
All your kicked and lobbed balls ‘Spears’
Only victory sounds hears…
The joy of picking a cup:
Football cup, Basketball Cup -
Climbing shoulders of teammates,
In hand sparkling wine from crates…
Ceaseless acting of the Great’
Before the lens cleaning sweat.
