Caught

in the timber way up north cabin by a cool, deep lake alert and watchful here I lay always wide awake fish swim deep in fathoms waiting to get caught like an unrequited lover feeling what love has wrought walking in early morning crunching feet on fallen pine cones reminiscing always remembering the years of what was honed coming to that still sweet spot where passion was once born was it only yesterday where now the weeds have grown
